The Exodus of the Calestrinians
and the Paradox of the Tears of the Gods
In the beginning stands the Divine.
It is not identical with Good.
It is the totality of existence itself.
From it arise two opposing principles. One preserves. One seeks separation. These principles become known as Good and Evil, yet both remain bound to the Divine order.
From the dawn of time, two ancient witnesses exist. They do not rule openly.
They observe, record, and influence the course of existence. One is Kalestrin, bearer of the Book of Eternity. The other is Linataurus, bearer of the Crown with Three Spikes.
Kalestrin stands for preservation. Linataurus stands for severance. From the doctrines of Linataurus later emerge the Linatars, a people devoted to freeing Evil from all divine limitation.
When the Divine is struck down, it fractures.
Its essence breaks into fragments known as the Tears of the Gods.
They are not artifacts. They are carriers of divine being.
As long as they remain separated, the Divine persists in a weakened state.
If united, the Divine may be restored.
Fifteen Tears exist.
Among them is Equalina, a small blue stone.
It is not the strongest.
Its purpose is not destruction, but connection an healing.
Evil does not seek rule.
Evil seeks independence.
It seeks to overthrow the Divine and reshape reality according to its own will.
What this new reality would be is unknown.
Only that it would end the order that has existed since the beginning.
To achieve this, Evil requires hell.
Before hell lies the Limbus.
A threshold of absolute darkness.
A state beyond time, beyond memory, beyond sequence.
Even demons cannot see clearly there.
For centuries, the people later led by Calestrinia dwell in the realm of Karletin, at the foot of Mount Karteff.
Wars against the Linatars return again and again. Generations live under siege.
During this age, the Tears of the Gods fall from the sky upon Karletin. Families guard them. Equalina passes through the bloodline of the ruling queens.
Queen Karletinia foresees a war that cannot be won. She prepares for survival.
Harbors are expanded. Scholars study the Nebelmeer. The great fleet is planned and built across generations. When Karletinia dies, her preparations remain.
Centuries later, Calestrinia inherits a kingdom already near extinction.
When the Linatars unleash their full strength, Karletin falls. The capital burns.
Calestrinia escapes with her brother Castraphon and the last of the faithful to the harbor. Thousands die. Thirteen great ships and several smaller vessels escape. Two massive supply ships depart unmanned, heavy with tools and provisions. This choice saves many later and condemns others in that moment.
As the fleet flees, Calestrinia watches Karletin burn. She sees Linatar forces collecting the fallen Tears. Equalina reacts violently. This moment reveals its true nature. It was never only against a people. It was always against the Divine fragments.
Weeks later, the Linatars pursue. At dawn, the fleet reaches “das Nebelmeer”, a living barrier of fog feared for centuries. The fleet was built for this moment. Equalina begins to glow. A passage opens. Calestrinia orders the fleet forward. Das Nebelmeer closes behind them. Some Linatar ships follow. Not all survive.
Within the Nebelmeer, direction loses meaning. Winds shift without warning. Ships vanish. Light beacons are used to hold formation. To avoid pursuit, the fleet learns to extinguish its lights and bind ships together. One vessel is lost entirely. Discipline fractures. Yet the fleet endures.
A battle erupts within the fog. Linatar forces attempt to board the flagship. Calestrinia and Castraphon fight among their soldiers. The attackers are repelled. Few Linatar ships remain.
Months later, Equalina grants Calestrinia visions. She sees an island. A towering obelisk. Jungles. Ruins. A gate. These visions confirm that land exists.
After fourteen months, the fleet reaches the island of the Obelisk. Camps are built. Three centers form. The fleet remains ready at sea. A settlement grows on the shore. Expeditions enter the interior.
Beneath the Obelisk lies an immense underground complex. Doors sealed with ancient stone. Reliefs carved with scenes of past, present, and future. Oil lamps flood the halls with firelight. A research camp is established. The walls are copied onto parchment.
The reliefs repeat one image.
A blue stone. A journey. A convergence.
Deep within lies a black gate. Formed of stone and metal, obsidian-like. Three mountain peaks are carved upon it. At their base, a broken opening leads inward. Beyond it lies absolute darkness. A torch thrown inside reveals nothing. Light is consumed. Equalina trembles.
This gate leads to hell.In hell, time does not exist. Here, Narnîel dwells.
She lives eight hundred twenty-seven years after Calestrinia. She is a young elven girl, chosen by no one. She carries Equalina, discovered on Hilian long after the Exodus.
Evil intends to use her as a willing sacrifice.
Narnîel refuses.
She leaps voluntarily into hell, seeking to unite the Tears and preserve the Divine.
Her Equalina is damaged.
It cannot guide her further.
She becomes trapped in the Limbus, hidden in absolute darkness, beyond the sight of demons.
There, even Evil cannot see her. But it search for her.
Calestrinia enters the same Limbus centuries earlier. She enters because Equalina calls her.
Past and future meet without knowing one another.
The same stone exists twice.
One is whole the other one broken.
The unbroken Equalina restores the other.
Together, without understanding names or origins, they pass through layers of hell. Not as warriors, but as witnesses. The Tears are reunited. The Divine endures. “Tales of the two choosen”
Calestrinia returns to her moment. No time has passed. Everything has changed.
Three years later, she completes the Exodus. The Linatar threat on the island is ended. The winds of the Nebelmeer reveal their secret. One must follow them, not resist them. The fleet departs. A year later, they emerge and reach Hilian at the Sea of Prisma. Vast cliffs rise. A colossal waterfall roars. Elves of Caelyrien witness their arrival and welcome them.
The Exodus ends.
Calestrinia founds the Calestrinian Realm. She alone knows what will occur centuries later. She speaks of it to no one. Equalina is hidden.
The conflict does not end. It unfolds across existence itself.
